78 things about me

Following (Amanda's) suit, I thought I would come up with a ridiculously long list about myself. It might be interesting to look back on this in a few years to see how I've changed (or not).
1. I love to use parentheses (not necessarily as they are supposed to (parenthetically) be used, but rather as phrasing as though I were talking)
2. I'm rather computer illiterate. Par with your grandmas.
3. I despise my complexion.
4. I knowingly wear too much make-up.
5. I love the sound of someone else vacuuming.
6. I wish the weather was always between 40-65 degrees.
7. I bite my nails, but gnaw on my cuticles.
8. I envy natural, well kept nails.
9. I bit my toenails regularly into my 20's.
10. Can brag about saving money on nail clippers and never fretting over not being able to find them.
11. I DO NOT bite my toe nails any longer (though I'm pretty sure I'm still flexible to do so).
12. I love to ski, but am too lazy to do so anymore.
13. I'm humongously wasteful in my use of baby wipes.
14. I'd much rather be in pain than nauseous.
15. I admire people who give talks while looking at the audience and not at a piece of paper.
16. I hope to someday give a talk without reading it.
17. I think my husband is incredibly smart.
18. I was extremely shy as a child and don't think I've outgrown that yet.
19. I think my boys are the cutest I know.
20. I have an unshakable belief in the power of prayer.
21. I find myself (already) being too hard on my sons.
22. I love to dissect things.
23. If given a whole day to myself, I would read in bed for 1/2 of it.
24. I have body dysmorphia (that's for you mom).
25. I don't enjoy working-out anymore.
26. I feel guilty on a regular basis about my inability to keep in touch with friends.
27. I miss my dad like crazy.
28. I love to give advice but rarely take it.
29. I usually eat too much while I cook and ruin my appetite for dinner.
30. On Thanksgiving, I hate that I haven't learned not to do that yet.
31. I think I look old for my age. That bothers me.
32. I'm surprised that I've barely used any parentheses (so far).
33. I love when people use words I've never heard.
34. I so wish I spoke 2 languages and find those who do very smart.
35. I still love listening to The Grateful Dead.
36. I'm very behind on current music.
37. I don't care much at all about what I wear as long as I think it doesn't make me look fat.
38. I would much rather have good skin than good hair.
39. I'm a poor house keeper.
40. I find myself very fortunate to be married to a man who doesn't expect a clean house when he gets home.
41. I think my temper is getting shorter and shorter and wonder if they have a pill for anger.
42. I HATE when I loose my temper and feel very guilty about it.
43. I love banana bread. Wish I were eating some right now.
44. I think my mom is the best cook.
45. I always skip reading the preludes to books.
46. I wish my family would visit me more often than they do.
47. I always have my rear view mirror angled down so I can see my kids. Just to look at their faces when they don't know I'm looking.
48. I am a very poor photographer.
49. I wish I had half the talents my mother has.
50. I wish I had half the talents my husband has.
51. I love when people speak about talents in terms of "being thoughtful" or "smiling at others". Then I don't feel quite so worthless.
52. I realize my self esteem is poor but don't know how to change it.
53. I rarely worry about our (bleak) financial situation.
54. I say "what" a lot even when I have heard perfectly well.
55. I love pure maple candy.
56. I wish I never stopped doing ballet.
57. I feel inadequate as a mother a lot.
58. I'm an aggressive driver.
59. I love to walk in the snow when it's dark out.
60. I love pressed leaves and flowers.
61. Although I work in health care I know very little about HMO's, medicaid or medicare.
62. I used to not believe in "pregnancy brain". I laugh about my disbelief.
63. I miss my grandparents although they haven't been around for nearly 20 years.
64. I fear getting cancer the most.
65. I don't really like Oreos.
66. I feel nervous returning things to stores.
67. I rarely cry anymore.
68. Several Elton John and Cat Stevens songs make my heart swell.
69. I love to listen to "This American Life" but don't frequently get to.
70. I can't believe I'm on # 70.
71. I like my teeth and should be taking better care of them.
72. I hate when people blame others for their problems.
73. I really wish my husband would not be too creeped out to put the new toilet paper roll on the holder.
74. I can't stand to re-watch movies but don't mind re-reading books.
75. I wish I still had my collection of scratch and sniff stickers.
76. I get very nervous leaving my kids with anyone other than Blake. I'll call to check in way more times than I should.
77. I don't like getting presents but love to give them.
78. The gift I would most like to receive is either a massage or free house cleaning.

Bless your heart if you've read through all this. Now you officially know way more about me than anyone should. Congratulations.

Love your list! Funny things I didn't know about you. I think you are a really good mom. And your house always looks great!

Jennah.

You are way too awesome for words. Love your list, we have several things in common: 1,7,8,15,20,23,28, 33,34,36,40,57,78.

Two things I have to STRONGLY disagree with 4 and 31.

You are too hard on yourself and I completely admire and look to you as a mother and friend.

Have two important things to say here. #1 You don't look a day over 22. #2 Yeah! We can be dead heads together.
You're so awesome, beautiful, and I can appreciate a good aggressive driver. I'll pretend I never read about you disliking oreo's...

I read that whole thing. What does that say about me? That I am really, really obsessed with you.......or just bored!!! Hee, hee. I want to make a list too! I wonder how many things i could think of.

PS- You do not have bad skin, should not be insecure, could never look fat in ANYTHING you wore and honestly don't even need to wear make-up. (I've seen that face naked!)

how fun to read about YOU! i agree with amanda on the disagreements. i actually don't remember how old you are, but i remember being hugely surprised when you once said something that made me realize you might be past the age of 30. you are an amazing mother (as jack is huge evidence of and of course, smiley theo). i wish they had a pill for temper; i would certainly take it. i think that we would both agree that i'm an aggressive driver too, and i always ruin my appetite while cooking too (thanksgiving included). like nat, i'll pretend i never saw that oreo comment; they're about the only store bought cookies i do like. (that and the ones with all that icing on them that you often bring to playgroup!)

Oh, Jennah! I do miss you! I am wasteful with baby wipes, too...I have them in every room and use them whenever the heck I feel like it, for whatever the heck I want. And I use 3-6 when I change a messy diaper. :) I didn't used to believe in pregnancy brain, either, but have since been severely humbled. I, like April, was extraordinarily surprised when you said something once that made me realize you must be older than 30...you look young, put-together, beautiful, and have a fantastic sylish flare. And way to go for being bold and declaring that Oreos are not the end-all for store-bought cookies. They're good, but...honestly, people?? You're wonderful, Jennah! I love how real you were about this whole list.
