I've reached a new (blogging) low

I just haven't been able to get it together to blog. I've never been a marathon blogger but I know my performance as of late has been inexcusable. (Thankfully) my life is rather ordinary. Not much dramatics or alarming news around here, which is how we like to keep it. Therefore, I have a hard time blogging about all the mundane goings on. But, we'll try... Blake has about a month before school gets out. He'll be teaching a class during the summer. It doesn't look as though he'll get a full-time job in the fall as we hoped. That means we'll be staying here and continue to do what were doing. - He- adjuncting at UCONN and I- working week-end nights at the hospital. Jack has been a hardcore bug collector as of late and can't get enough of being outside. While inside though, he is into drawing elaborate treasure maps (needless to say, our printer paper is just about gone). He has been working on spelling simple words, sounding things out and watching as much PBS kids as allowed. Word World is on now which is the only way I'm able to write this right now. He loves that Theo is getting bigger and heartier and can therefore tolerate rougher play. Theo is just about to walk. He is taking independent steps but prefers crawling. He is an amazingly fast crawler. He still smiles at everyone and everything. I'm dreading the day when that ends. I remember when Jack used to smile at everyone... Theo loves to give hugs and slobber kisses and if I hold him really tight he will sit through a 30 second book. I look at him and wonder where the time has gone. He is so big! So like I said, nothing earth-shattering here. We're healthy and happy and just too blessed to be stressed. Bring on the sunshine, new episodes of The Office and Lost, walks to the park and plenty of yogurt covered pretzels and I'm good.

Thanks for the updates and pictures. We love it and keep it coming. It is not mundane to us and we feast on everything from home. We love you and enjoy your blog. That was so nice what you said when we left on our mission. We love you all.

this was a great post and your mundane stuff sure tugged at my heart. childhood goes way too fast when your the mom watching your kids grow. your boys are darling and precious and i'm glad you'll be around another year so i can see them grow (just wish it was a full-time teaching position keeping you here). oh, and yogurt pretzels do sound good. i haven't had those in forever.

Thanks for the update. You're smart to be grateful of the mundane. And we're glad you're here a little longer.
