We've come a long way

Well, it's been a week now since my big boy finally gave up his crib for the big boy bed.  Now we know the joys of walking him back a dozen times before he stays put.  But as Super Nanny promised,  with consistency, he has caught on.  Most nights.  An interesting thing happened about day 3 of his big boy bed sleeping...HE  lost his pacifier!  My poor husband was alone for that one and thank goodness he was because I would have likely found it (you know what I'm talking about, guys can't find stuff like mom's can)and the inevitable would have been prolonged again.  It reportedly took many many hours for him to fall asleep but as for any 2 year old, sleep eventually won.  We found that the fact that he lost his pacifier has work incredibly well for us.  We just kept on reminding him it was his fault!  Nice parenting huh?  Anyway,  after I got home from work and heard the story, we found the thing in about a minute after which a struggle ensued.  Do we throw it away? or hang on to it just in case he decides to make his new bed time 11:30 permanently.   We stashed it in our drawer for a week and saw we didn't give the kid enough credit.  It's so forgotten and bed time is back to 8 pm!   Just like that it happened.  So for now I feel like my kid is normal...
